 | Paul calls for fairer Bucks health funding in Queen’s Speech debate |
 |
Wycombe MP Paul Goodman has called for Bucks to get a larger share of NHS funding during his last Queen’s Speech debate.
He said that Labour’s changes to health care structure in Bucks were like “permanent revolution in China”, and that underfunding was driving local health difficulties – such as two local babies being born recently in ambulances.
Paul said that “ambulances shouldn’t have to double up as mobile labour wards”, adding that “with others, I specifically raised traffic delay problems in meetings with the trust at the time [that the changes were proposed].
“The then management had no response other than their pre-programmed plan – namely to inflict cuts and closures on Wycombe Hospital as instructed.”
He added “The prophetic powers of Mystic Meg weren’t required to foresee hair raising incidents like these.”
