Well, Arriva put on a good bus, but the experience at Stoke Mandeville left a lot to be desired.
Add a bus journey in High Wycombe to catch the 300 and it would be at best a wearing and time-consuming experience. We thought the experience overall would be pretty awful for someone anxious or with mobility difficulties. The Arriva 300 should at least call at the Aylesbury Carousel bus stop outside the Outpatients’ Department. The cost was £5.40 return.
We’re assured that the proposed changes to Bucks Healthcare won’t mean many additional bus journeys and I should hope not. Certainly, anyone who would have to travel by bus to Stoke Mandeville as a consquence of the proposals deserves an excellent explanation.
These are all things to pick up at the High Wycombe consultation meeting in the King’s Centre on Desborough Road from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday 28 February. I’m hoping for a substantial turnout so Wycombe’s voice can be heard loud and clear.
