The Bucks Healthcare website states:
This will be supported by acute stroke services at Wycombe, Stoke Mandeville and Wexham Park hospitals.
HASU offers intensive care, rehabilitation and therapy for three days following a stroke, this is vital in ensuring positive outcomes for patients. The service offers 24/7 access to Thrombolysis, which ensures patients have access to a life-saving injection that is used to disperse blood clots, reducing damage in the early stages of a stroke.
To support the HASU, the Trust is also developing a stroke early supported discharge service which will allow some patients to receive intensive support and therapy in their own homes instead of hospital.
